Losing weight can help with a lot of things. Unfortunately it’s easier said than done sometimes. There are some women who can cut back on certain foods or calories for a few days and instantly drop down to the weight they want to be at. I am not one of those women. I must work hard and long to lose weight and if you’re anything like me, the news that shedding pounds can help with symptoms of menopause may be rather depressing.
Weight gain happens naturally as we get older. Women naturally gain weight, particularly in their middles, as they age and when they hit menopause, the various hormonal changes in their bodies may contribute to additional weight gain.
Staying healthy means we are active and we’re eating healthy. We need to do more than just exercise regularly. We also need to live healthy lifestyles. It’s important to walk as much as you can. That means taking that parking spot at the back of the lot instead of circling around and looking for a closer spot in the front row. It always amazes me when I see people vying for a front spot at the gym. What’s the point of even being there?
You can stay active by shopping, cleaning and gardening. Gardening is an excellent way to stay active because you can decide how much activity you want it to be. Not to mention the therapeutic benefits of having a lovely garden to relax in at the end of a hard day.
Sports and other physical activities like sports can be a fun way to stay active. It can be even more fun if you join with a friend or family member. It’s always fun to do something with someone else and a lot easier to stay motivated.
If you don’t want to go on a diet or completely “ruin” your life food-wise, you can help yourself lose weight by just cutting back on the calories you’re taking in. This means cutting one small thing out of your food rather than everything. A good example is eating pancakes with whipped cream instead of syrup or opting to go for a fudgsicle instead of a dish of chocolate ice cream. Little things like this can really make a huge difference in your caloric intake.
You may try to detoxify or cleanse your body, starting with your colon and liver. Go to your local health food store and speak with representatives about which cleansing program may work best for you. It is possible to lose a lot of toxins and built up junk from your body by using a colon cleansing regimen.
