What does a Ultrasound determine besides pregnangy?
My mother is going for an ultrasound tuesday, she can't be pregnant(she is in menopause) and her doctor told her not to stand on stools or anything like that. What could it be?

An ultrasound is a form of diagnostic imaging. It can be used to look at various structures in the body, and is often used to look for such things as cysts and gallstones.
if your mum is in menopause, she could be having some problems that need to be checked out. cysts, fibroids, to see if she might have prolapse of the uterus, to check the thickness of the uterine lining. for gallstones you have an endscopy which is a tube put down your throat. can you ask your mum why she might be having this ultrasound?
