Is it possible for me to get menopause at 20?
I know, it seems like kind of a weird question. But I come from a family unable to handle stress-- my grandmother went into menopause in her thirties-- and my periods seem to be gradually dwindling. Last year, I got them every five weeks. Then it was every six weeks for a bit. Now it's been seven weeks... still nothing. Oh, and no, I'm definitely not pregnant. Just for the record.
I know I need to see my gynecologist for a REAL answer, but I figure it doesn't help to be informed.
Do you have any ideas if this could be menopause even though I'm only 20 (I have a good amount of gray hair, too), or could it simply be something like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome?
I'd like to hear your theories, because this whole late-period thing is getting on my nerves,

I really have no idea, I don't think you can reach menopause that early (or atleast I hope not)
Personally I have missed a few periods from stress and get more grey hairs by the day and I am only 22.

I don't suppose its IMpossible, especially if there's a family history of early menopause. I think 'being informed' will come from a doctor, then if anyone else posts on here saying something similar you'll be able to offer advice.
Don't agonise over it trying to figure it out online, call a doctor, its the only way to put your mind at ease. It may be symptomatic of a bigger problem, so its best to get it checked out sooner than later.
